Disney Updates
Disneyland Haunted Mansion Reopening
The iconic Haunted Mansion at Disneyland is set to reopen on July 29th after being closed for updates to its outdoor queue. Just in time for the Halloween and Holiday seasons, the attraction will feature décor inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Disney promises a unique experience with an all-new gingerbread house design in the ballroom scene. While work on the queue continues, access to the Haunted Mansion will be available exclusively through a virtual queue.
Disney Cruise Line Announcements
Disney Cruise Line is gearing up for three days of exciting announcements from July 30 to August 1, 2024. They will unveil the Disney Destiny, a new heroes and villains-inspired ship, set to sail in December 2025. Fans are encouraged to follow along for more details about this thrilling addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa Updates
Starting August 5, 2024, the Wailana Pool at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, will once again become an adult-only pool. This tranquil space will offer a relaxing atmosphere exclusively for guests and Disney Vacation Club Members aged 18 and over. The nearby cabanas and the ‘Alohi Point whirlpool spa will also be adult-only areas, while other pool amenities within the Waikolohe Valley will remain available for the entire family to enjoy.
Walt Disney World Lightning Lane Passes
Beginning July 24, guests visiting Walt Disney World can enhance their planning with Lightning Lane passes. Available for purchase through the My Disney Experience app, these passes allow guests to secure their must-do attractions and experiences in advance. The new system provides greater convenience and confidence in planning your Disney visit.
Fall and Holiday Savings at Disney Resort Hotels
This fall and holiday season, Disney Resort hotels are offering savings on room rates:
- Save up to 30% on rooms for stays most nights from November 24 to December 25, 2024.
- Enjoy other savings for stays most Sunday to Thursday nights from October 6 to November 21, 2024.
Additionally, guests who upgrade to a Walt Disney Travel Company room-and-ticket package with nondiscounted 4-day (or longer) date-based theme park tickets will receive free Park Hopper benefits, allowing multiple theme park visits each day.
Universal News
Halloween Horror Nights
Universal Studios has announced the final house for Halloween Horror Nights (HHN), which will be held on select nights from August 30 to November 3. The new house, "Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines," will feature all-female classic Universal Monsters, including the Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula’s Daughter, She-Wolf of London, and Anck-Su-Namun. LEGOLAND News
Florida Resident Package and Brick-or-Treat
LEGOLAND Florida is offering a special package for Florida residents, available now through August 29, 2024. The package includes 20% off an onsite overnight hotel stay and 2-day LEGOLAND Multipark tickets, with kids' tickets priced at $29 per day.
Brick-or-Treat returns on select Saturdays and Sundays from September 14 to October 27. The event features family-friendly Halloween fun, including shows, candy, treats, and exclusive LEGO characters.
Cruise Lines
Carnival Cruise Line New Ships
Carnival Corporation has announced the order of three new ships for Carnival Cruise Line, set to debut in the summers of 2029, 2031, and 2033. This new class of ships promises to enhance the Carnival cruising experience.
Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas
Royal Caribbean's newest ship, the Utopia of the Seas, commenced its inaugural cruise from Port Canaveral on July 19, 2024. This sixth Oasis-class vessel brings new features and experiences to the Royal Caribbean fleet.
Princess Cruises Alaska Season
Princess Cruises has revealed its offerings for the 2026 Alaska season, including the debut of its newest ship, the Start Princess. Bookings open on August 1 with the "Better Than Best Price Guarantee," offering the best rates and 120% of the price difference as onboard credit if a lower rate is found before final payment. This promotion ends on September 2, 2024.
